New Concepts for Living was founded in 1981 by a group of parents who had children with developmental disabilities. At the time there was little support for families in this situation so NCFL was founded to care for, and empower the individual while providing much needed relief for their families.
New Concepts for Living began expansion with the opening of new homes in Teaneck, Park Ridge, River Vale and River Edge. The addition of four new homes in four years was a testament to our commitment to serving the developmentally disabled population and our driving desire to better the lives of as many people as possible.
Our Achievement Center Day Program was expanded in 1999 to accommodate our growth. Centrally located in Rochelle Park, NJ, we care for a growing number of individuals in our Achievement Center, including individuals that reside in our group homes, as well as individuals from other agencies’ group homes or those who live with their families. Most recently, New Concepts for Living opened four state-of-the-art group homes in Haledon, Northvale and Mahwah, NJ, providing a benchmark for future NCFL housing developments. We are committed to providing the individuals we serve with the best possible care for life.
