DESCRIPTION:Our Day Program participants visit Allaire State Park in Howell. Allaire State Park is best know for it’s historic 19th century iron-making town\, know as Allaire Village. The park also features a visitor center / museum\, nature interpretive center\, picnic tables & shelters\, and a playground. The buildings of the village\, which remain today\, include a general store\, blacksmith shop\, carpenter’s shop\, manager’s house\, foreman’s house and a church. One of the workers’ row house buildings is now the Allaire Visitor Center and Museum.
