New Concepts for Living in Immediate Need of Direct Care Workers

Developmentally disabled adults need care more than ever during this challenging period.

New Concepts for Living, a 501(c)(3) organization that provides housing, day care and other services to adults with developmental disabilities is currently hiring Direct Service Providers to work in their community residences (group homes). Multiple shifts and locations throughout Bergen and Passaic counties are available.

NCFL’s residents are not able to go to various Day Programs, including New Concepts for Living’s own Adult Achievement Center, located in Rochelle Park, NJ.  The state-wide quarantine, school closures and day care issues have put a strain on staffing, impacting this already delicate population, who require round the clock supervision.

“These individuals are used to their routines. Many of them attend our Achievement Center and are missing the socialization and activities there. The mandated quarantine may be more difficult on them because of their inability to fully comprehend what is happening,” explains Steve Setteducati, NCFL’s Chief Executive Officer. “Emails like the following are starting to come in from some of the higher functioning adults: ‘Hi Steve, when will the day program be open again?  Your Friend, Aj.’  We are doing everything in our power to not only keep our family of extraordinary individuals safe, but to ensure that they continue to thrive. We are looking for people who may have been laid off or who want a career change to come work with us and help our residents during this challenging time,” he added.

Permanent and temporary positions are available, starting at $13.00/hour and up to $17.00/hour, depending on performance.  Anyone interested can apply online at their website: www.NCFL.net/Career or visit their Rochelle Park facility at 68A West Passaic Street, Monday – Friday from 9:00AM – 4:00PM.
