Big & Tall Fest

On July 19, right in the heart of Disability Pride Month, Big & Tall Recording hosted its very first Big & Tall Fest at the Williams Center in Rutherford. The 10-hour music marathon drew more than 600 guests, supported by over 140 volunteers, and featured 28 live acts. A special needs choir opened the day, setting an inspiring and celebratory tone that carried through each performance.

The festival wasn’t just about great music—it had a mission. Every dollar raised went directly to support the services we provide for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD). In the end, the event generated $12,000.

The lineup included emerging artists and bands, many of whom shared a personal connection to the cause. For Big & Tall Recording, the day was about more than music. “This festival was created as a space to celebrate local talent in a way that is uplifting, inclusive, and meaningful—all in support of a cause close to our hearts,” shared Big & Tall co-founder Gabe Valle.

NCFL’s Director of Development, Sharon Scimeca, expressed gratitude for the partnership. “Big & Tall Fest not only raised critical funds for our life-changing services but also helped shine a light on the urgent need for programs that serve the I/DD community. We’re proud to be recognized as a leader in providing the highest level of care for this underserved population.”
