At NCFL, our success is driven by passionate, dedicated team members who make a difference every day. This month, we’re excited to shine a spotlight on Rae Wine, our new Day Program Senior Manager. With a background in education and nonprofit leadership, Rae brings both experience and heart to her role—helping to create meaningful experiences for our participants and fostering a strong sense of community at the Achievement Center.
Rae Wine’s career has always been rooted in education and her passion for serving individuals with disabilities. After eight years as a teacher, she transitioned into leadership roles in nonprofit day programs, guiding teams and creating inclusive environments. Most recently, she worked with Life Opportunities Unlimited, an experience that strengthened her skills and reinforced her commitment to building meaningful opportunities for people with disabilities.
“What led me to NCFL was its dedication to the community of people with disabilities and strong commitment to a teamwork approach,” Rae shared. “I saw an opportunity to contribute to meaningful, community-centered work that creates lasting impact.”
Rae credits her years of teaching, combined with her nonprofit leadership experience, as the perfect preparation for her new role at NCFL. “Having been in the classroom for eight years, working as a leader in a nonprofit for people with disabilities, and having managed a small staff before, I believe this has prepared me to join NCFL as Program A’s Senior Manager.”
At the Achievement Center, Rae finds daily inspiration in the people around her. “What I enjoy most about working with our participants and staff in the Day Program is the sense of community and connection. Every day brings a new opportunity to build meaningful relationships, support personal growth, and celebrate small but powerful achievements.” She also notes that the staff’s dedication and teamwork “create a positive, supportive environment. It’s truly rewarding to be part of a program that makes a real difference in people’s lives.”
Looking ahead, Rae is eager to enhance the Day Program with experiences that bring everyone together. “One of the goals I’m most excited to bring to the Achievement Center is creating more special events that build community, celebrate our participants, and involve their families. Events like themed activity days, family appreciation nights, or seasonal celebrations can bring everyone together in a fun and meaningful way.”
Outside of NCFL, Rae loves spending time with family and friends—whether it’s a quiet dinner, exploring new places, or simply catching up. The beach is her favorite place to relax, and she also enjoys traveling, discovering new cultures, and trying different foods.
We are so excited to welcome Rae to the NCFL family and can’t wait to see the energy, creativity, and passion she will bring to the Day Program!
