NCFL Opens Four New Community Residences in NJ
This fall, New Concepts for Living proudly opened four new community residences across Bergen County — expanding our mission to give more adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities a beautiful, safe, and supportive place to call home.
With ribbon-cuttings held in River Vale (two neighboring homes) on September 12, Mahwah on October 16, and Wyckoff on November 7, each celebration brought together families, township leaders, county officials, and supporters united in their commitment to inclusive, community-based living.
River Vale: Hope and Peace of Mind for Families
At the grand opening of our two new River Vale residences, NCFL CEO Steve Setteducati shared a heartfelt message about what these homes represent for families who have long waited for a place where their loved ones can truly belong.
“These two beautiful homes will provide eight extraordinary adults a safe and nurturing place to call home. For the despairing families who have long searched for a loving home in this township… these residences offer comfort in knowing that NCFL will care for their loved one as if they were their own.”
— Steve Setteducati, CEO
The homes also stand as a reflection of the township’s dedication to ensuring all individuals are valued, supported, and celebrated within their community.
Mahwah: Advancing Medically Supportive Community Living
On October 16, NCFL opened its newest medically supportive residence in Mahwah — a state-of-the-art home for adults with complex medical needs. During the ceremony, leadership emphasized NCFL’s commitment to exceptional, person-centered care.
“Anyone who knows our organization knows that NCFL does it like no other organization in the country. We are really, really unique. We have great staff at every level who take care of them.”
— Steve Setteducati, CEO
This residence ensures individuals who require specialized care can live safely and comfortably in a home environment — without sacrificing community, connection, or quality of life.
Wyckoff: A Home That Keeps Loved Ones Close
The final ribbon-cutting took place on November 7 in Wyckoff, where NCFL opened a warm and welcoming new home for six adults. Township officials expressed their excitement in welcoming the residence and its new neighbors.
The most moving moment came from Maria Reda, the parent of a resident, who shared what this home means to her daughter Jessica and their family:
“My daughter Jessica will tell you proudly she lives in Wyckoff — and now, through New Concepts, she still will live here. It is the care, concern, and professionalism that NCFL shows which gives me comfort that Jessica’s life will continue to be enriched and cared for.”
— Maria Reda, Parent
Her words reflect the heart of NCFL’s mission: to provide not only housing, but comfort, continuity, and true belonging.
Building Toward a More Inclusive Future
These four new residences demonstrate NCFL’s unwavering commitment to growth, opportunity, and community integration. Each home represents:
- More opportunities for adults with I/DD to thrive
- Safe, nurturing environments built around dignity and respect
- Peace of mind for families who entrust NCFL with their loved ones
- A future where inclusive housing is the standard — not the exception
NCFL will continue opening new homes, expanding support services, and championing the highest quality of care for every individual we serve.
