High Meadow playground and fitness area at Garret Mountain Reservation provides individuals in our program with the perfect space to get some fresh air and exercise on a beautiful Spring afternoon.
The team at Mercer Exercise Physiology works with the individuals at our Achievement Center to develop personalized workouts that suit each person's needs, abilities and goals. This creates a safe training environment where participants feel confident and comfortable. Pictures coming soon!
Our participants visit a local bowling alley to let the pins fall where they may! Bowling provides a great low-impact workout engaging muscle strength and cardio, improves flexibility and plus, its fun!
A trip to the local library allows our individuals to develop skills for community awareness, socialization, public navigation, and decision making, while enjoying a leisurely activity. Pictures coming soon!
Our participants enjoy a day in the kitchen! Learning to prepare meals encourages independence and provides the opportunity for social connections with others. Plus they get a tasty reward at the end!
Yoga can be beneficial for individuals with disabilities or chronic health conditions through both the physical postures and breathwork. Each pose can be modified or adapted to meet the needs of the student. Nurse Karen Overgaard spends time with the amazing individuals in our program to help them stretch, while practicing meditative breathing.

Exercise can benefit both physical and mental health. We spend the day at the local YMCA to exercise, get fit, and stay healthy.

A trip to the Dollar Tree store gives the amazing individuals in our program access to household items, and promotes equal treatment and opportunity. Participants in our programs visit SeaQuest Aquarium in Woodbridge, where they are encouraged to connect with animals and learn about their ecosystems through various hands-on activities, which include hand-feeding sharks, stingrays, birds, and tropical animals.
