With over 130 acres at Van Saun Park, there are many opportunities for passive and active recreation. The park offers ball fields and tennis courts, picnic areas, state of the art playgrounds and splash pads, pony rides, a millennium carousel, a miniature train ride, and the nationally-accredited Bergen County Zoo! Our extraordinary individuals enjoy a day in the kitchen at our local YMCA! Learning to prepare meals encourages independence, and provides the opportunity for social connections with others. Plus a tasty reward at the end!
Our participants visit a reconstructed Revolutionary War encampment and Visitor Center at the Fort Lee Historic Park to learn about living conditions for soldiers during the Revolutionary War while enjoying picturesque views of New York City from the Hudson Palisades.
Exercise can benefit both physical and mental health. Participants in our program take a trip to the local YMCA to get fit and stay healthy.

Our participants visit a local bowling alley to let the pins fall where they may! Bowling provides a great low-impact workout engaging muscle strength and cardio, improves flexibility and plus, its fun!

We take a trip to view the Great Falls in Paterson and spend some time in the scenic parks that surround the area. Whether viewing the Falls from Overlook Park or feeling their spray in Mary Ellen Kramer Park, the area offers our participants a chance to enjoy nature. Photos coming soon!
