New Version Of ‘We Are The World’ To Be Sung Live In Paramus
All are invited when a nonprofit for adults with developmental disabilities celebrates the rendition of “We Are The World” on New Year’s Eve
PARAMUS, NJ — Paramus-based non-profit New Concepts for Living will host a public viewing party and live performance on New Year’s Eve to celebrate the release of a special rendition of the iconic 1985 song, “We Are the World,” featuring more than two dozen local artists.
This special event marks the song’s 40th anniversary and will include the first public showing of the music video to premiere on YouTube.
Along with showing the video, the group will also host a live performance of the song, which mirrors the spirit of the original “We Are the World” video.
The song will raise visibility and funds to support NCFL’s programs and services for New Jersey adults with special needs.
The event will mark the official recording drop for purchase and download on all streaming platforms. All proceeds from downloads will benefit NCFL.
Inspired by their own personal connections to the I/DD community — Valle has a nephew with autism and McCormick works at a school for children with special needs — the duo brought together 28 talented artists to create their own rendition of “We Are the World” and pledged to donate all proceeds from the song’s downloads and streaming to NCFL.
The event is free and open to the public, but RSVP’s are preferred. See the link below.
When: Tuesday, Dec. 31.
Time: 12-2 p.m.
Who: Over a dozen local NJ musicians performing “We Are the World,” Big & Tall owners Gabe Valle and Thomas McCormick, NCFL CEO Steve Setteducati, NCFL program guardians, the general public and local members of the community
