At New Concepts for Living, we believe that every individual deserves a safe, beautiful, and loving place to call home—and our Residential Management Team goes above and beyond all year round to make that happen.

All 18 of our Community Residences recently underwent their annual licensing inspections, conducted by the New Jersey Division of Developmental Disabilities (DDD). This is an extremely comprehensive process that evaluates health, safety, documentation, staffing, compliance, and much more. The results? Outstanding!

This year’s inspection results were a clear reflection of the team’s hard work, consistency, and attention to detail. From the very first unannounced visit to the final walkthrough, every home showcased the care, organization, and high standards that NCFL is known for. This kind of excellence doesn’t happen by chance—it’s the result of strong leadership and a team that treats every day like inspection day.

“This level of performance shows that our homes are not only inspection-ready but are kept to the highest standards every single day,” said Debra Tonyes, Director of Residential Services. “Our managers and staff take pride in their homes and work together to ensure our residents receive the best possible care.”

Behind this success is a well-coordinated team effort. Janet Spence, Residential Coordinator, credits day-to-day routines like consistent cleaning, daily paperwork checks, and team accountability as key to their readiness. “We treat every day like inspection day,” she shared. “By making good practices part of our routine, we don’t just prepare for inspections—we provide a better home for our residents.”

Edulia Bolanos, Residential Training and Compliance Manager, pointed to NCFL’s proactive approach. “Our training is not one-size-fits-all—it’s tailored to each home and each resident,” she said. “We focus on preventing problems before they happen and creating a culture where everyone takes ownership of quality.”

That sense of ownership is echoed at every level. Rolando Zorilla, Assistant Director of Residential Services, emphasized the importance of presence and mentorship. “We (the Leadership team) visit our homes regularly, offer ongoing coaching, and challenge our managers to keep learning and growing,” he said. “We lead by example and maintain open communication across the board.”

Assistant Director of Residential Services, Xian Edwards, highlighted the unity and spirit of the team during the inspection process. “After each successful audit, managers rallied around each other, offering hands-on help and encouragement,” he said. “That level of teamwork and shared purpose is what makes NCFL truly special.”

In celebration of this exceptional achievement, CEO Steve Setteducati hosted a special dinner to recognize the entire residential management team for their hard work and dedication.

“This year’s licensing was exemplary of the standards that NCFL has put into place and the leadership team we are fortunate to have spearheading the care of our residents, said Steve Setteducati,” NCFL’s CEO. “I couldn’t be prouder or more blessed to be leading this amazing organization,” he added.

Congratulations to our Residential Directors and Management Team, the Direct Support Professionals, who are our front lines, and all those behind the scenes who help make NCFL’s residences a home that provides comfort, security, dignity, and excellence. Because of you, our residents not only feel safe, they feel at home.
